DENVER (KDVR) — Colorado's Supreme Court has cleared the way for voters to decide on a property tax relief measure this November.Proposition HH would lower property tax rates for the next 10 years and backfill local government revenues with surplus tax money — that's the money normally refunded to Coloradans as "TABOR checks" under the Taxpayer Bill of Rights. Attorney John Eastman surrenders in Trump’s Georgia case The ballot measure was under a challenge from 12 counties and the conservative group Advance Colorado. They argued the measure addresses too many topics, in violation of the Colorado Constitution, which requires a single subject and clear title for ballot measures.A Denver District judge rejected the challenge, and in an opinion on Monday, the state's high court agreed. The court found that, based on precedent, neither court has jurisdiction to review whether Prop HH meets single-subject requirements "unless and until those measures have been approved by Colorado voter...Florida state troopers take 16-year-old from Ohio into custody after assaulting and fleeing officers

The International Fund for Animal Welfare rescue center is located in Orleans and is the first of its kind in this area. 7NEWS recently got a look inside as staff say they’re excited to be able to help dolphins. “Because of where we’ve located the facility, we are about 20 minutes from all of our most frequent stranding locations,” said Brian Sharp of the International Fund for Animal Welfare. “That’s what we’re going to concentrate on because that’s where it most frequently occurs.”The area sees more instances of live mass strandings of dolphins than anywhere else in the world. Both said it is their hope the joint conference committee working to iron out the differences in proposals offered by the House and Senate — for more than two months now — will soon have a compromised piece of legislation for lawmakers to consider and make law.“I am very hopeful,” Spilka said. “As I said at the end of session, we’ll pick that up immediately. I believe that we need to get that done.”Long before lawmakers departed for their August recess, state representatives proposed about $640 million in tax cuts and were answered by an about $590 million plan from the Senate. Both plans offer cuts to help seniors, renters and low-income families, but a major difference between the pair is a House pr...Latest news
