(KRON) -- The first baby born in the Bay Area in 2024 appears to be a baby boy born at Kaiser Permanente San Francisco Medical Center just after midnight on Jan. 1, 2024. Kaiser Permanente Spokesman Karl Sonkin said the boy was born at 12:21 a.m. A New Year’s sideshow led to 3 vehicles on fire Sonkin said another birth occurred early in 2024 at Kaiser Permanente San Leandro Medical Center, with one baby girl born at 12:49 a.m. Kaiser Permanente also confirmed another baby was born at its medical center in Walnut Creek at approximately 12:56 a.m.The names and weights of the babies born at the Kaiser Permanente facilities were not immediately available publicly.Meanwhile, a baby girl named ZaLayah Ridgle was born at Wilma Chan Highland Hospital Campus in Oakland at approximately 1:18 a.m. She weighed around 6 pounds and 10 ounces, the medical facility said.Copyright © 2024 Bay City News, Inc.A New Year’s sideshow led to 3 vehicles on fire

(KRON) – A sideshow in Vallejo resulted in three torched vehicles on New Year’s Eve. Vallejo Police Department was notified of a sideshow at the intersection of Sonoma Boulevard and Lemon Street by several residents around 2:43 a.m. on Sunday. According to police, the callers reported hundreds of cars participated in the sideshow. There were also reports of individuals shooting firearms and setting off fireworks at the sideshow. 1 person shot, OPD investigates Upon arrival, officers witnessed a “large” sideshow. According to police, three vehicles were engulfed in flames. The Solano County Sheriff's Office assisted Vallejo officers in intervening with the sideshow. The Vallejo Fire Department responded and extinguished the multiple fires.According to Vallejo PD, individuals participating in sideshow activity risk their vehicles being impounded for 30 days and incurring various fees from the impound lot. DENVER (KDVR) — Police are investigating a homicide in Commerce City.According to the Commerce City Police Department, officers were called to the area of 78th and Dahlia Street early Monday morning. The area is east of the Pelican Ponds Open Space.Police said they have identified a suspect but they have not been located.It is believed the suspect and the victim knew each other and the incident was not random. However, police have not yet said how the victim died.
